Close up of some tree bark. I think this was from a Japanese cypress.
The view from our back balcony just as we left for the hike.
A blue heron along the river at the bottom of the hill below Gora.
A small family laundry we passed on our way the the trailhead.
A wisteria growing at a home/small business just before the trailhead.
This is a view of Mt. So-un. Owakudani is just on the other side of this mountain. You can see the pylons of the rope way that go there. This is where all the earthquakes were occurring.
A small white violet growing along the path.
Mount So-un, taken from the daimonji yaki clearing. Our apartment is a tiny red roof speck just to the right of the top of ichibanzaka, the second road to the left of the cable car track.
The view from Daimonji Yaki.
Wild buttercups at Daimonji Yaki.
Our red roofed apartment.
Miya no Shita village.
Koinobori across the stream at the foot of the mountain - on the way home.
This is an old picture taken from our entry way just to show the mountain from the apartment point of view.
