The view from our room
The ferry to the island costs $10 per person. It is a distance of about 50 meters.
The alley on the back side of the inn where we stayed.
Small fishing boats. The reel on the front is for pulling in the small nets you can see drying in the distance.
Purple gloves and orange fishing nets.
A guard rail.
Bigger nets and a bigger boat.
Wooden carts for hauling equipment and maybe fish too.
Mending nets. This is what Peter and John must have been doing when Jesus called them into the ministry.
I couldn't find anyone to ask, but this must have been some sort of fort many years ago.
Another fisherman mending his nets.
The village is protected by a little mini bay or inlet. This is the sea a little north of the village. it looks like the rocks could be pretty destructive to small fishing boats.
There is this weird rock tower on the north side of the village. I have no idea how it was made.
The village as seen from in front of the rock tower.
