I had tried for several years to get a good picture of these pretty Mejiro. They are quite timid. This one was my first success. Afterward I was able to capture more.

We shoveled the snow in front of our house, but the neighbor up the hill didn't clear their snow. It melted a little at a time, then continued to freeze making a sheet of transparent ice right in front of our door.
